The Berthold Story
Nestled in the heart of four popular Atlanta neighborhoods, the Berthold Building is the coworking community you’ve been looking for. And community is the key word. We believe in connectivity, in the intersections between careers and interests, in finding ways to have fun while being productive. We strive to make each coworking, dedicated desk, and dedicated office member feel appreciated and included. We pride ourselves in our local knowledge and our ability to provide recommendations about our beautiful city. Most importantly, we’re here to boost your creativity and productivity while making you feel at home.
The Berthold Building is not like most coworking spaces. “The Bert,” as it’s affectionately called by our members, is also home to Nest Realty Atlanta. This unique partnership allows the realtors to remain connected with and work inside of the Atlanta community, and allows our members convenient access to one of the best real estate companies in the city. This creates an environment that is mutually beneficial while maximizing the use of office space.
While our model and practices are contemporary and innovative, we haven’t forgotten our roots. This is evident in the exposed brick in the building, in the happy hours and information sessions, and most of all in our name. The father of our founder, Jennifer Kjellgren, was named Bertil Kjellgren. He moved to America from Sweden just before the Great Depression, and made his living in construction, working on buildings much like ours. When Jennifer found the building, she knew it needed to pay homage to her father’s hard work. Just one small change from “Bertil” to its linguistic root “Berthold,” and a cowork space was born. We opened our doors in April of 2015, and we haven’t looked back since.
The Bert is perfectly located: a short walk to the Beltline, the newly renovated Hotel Clermont, Ponce City Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Kroger, Home Depot, Piedmont Park, Old Forth Ward Park, Dancing Goats Coffee, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, Krispy Kreme, and dozens of restaurants. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to stretch your legs, take a lunch meeting, grab a drink, or get dinner, the options are plentiful and close. Come join our community, and see why more people than ever are shaping their lives to live, work, and play here at the Bert.
